Ponman Story:
PP Ajesh, played by the talented Basil Joseph, has a rather unusual job – he lends gold to families in need during weddings, helping them meet societal expectations and traditions. His work is a lifeline for many, but it comes with its own set of risks. When Ajesh lends 25 sovereigns of gold to Steffi (Lijomol Jose), he expects her to repay the equivalent amount in cash the day after the wedding. However, things take an unexpected turn when Steffi refuses to pay and moves to Kollam, her husband Mariyano’s (Sajin Gopu) hometown. Mariyano, known for his ruthless nature, adds another layer of complexity to the situation.
Determined to reclaim what is rightfully his, Ajesh embarks on a risky journey to Kollam. But this isn’t just a simple recovery mission. Along the way, he faces numerous challenges that test his resolve and ingenuity. Why did Ajesh choose such a precarious profession in the first place? What drives him to take on this high-stakes role? And was Mariyano aware of the deal between Ajesh and Steffi? These questions add depth to the story, keeping viewers hooked.
Steffi’s refusal to pay and her sudden move to Kollam raise even more questions. How does she respond to Ajesh’s pursuit? Does she have her own reasons for refusing to repay the gold, or is she under pressure from her husband? The film skillfully unravels these answers, weaving a tale of ambition, risk, and human emotions.
As Ajesh navigates the challenges of his journey, the film explores themes of trust, societal expectations, and the lengths people go to protect their interests. With Basil Joseph’s compelling performance and a gripping storyline, the movie keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, eager to see how Ajesh’s story unfolds.
